Plesk's own backups only work within the Plesk system, so if you want to save the website on the server to your own device, and possibly view it locally, or if you want to transfer the website to another environment, you can download the website data through the file manager.
If you want a complete backup of your website, and your site is made with, for example, WordPress, remember to also download the database associated with the site.
Downloading files
You can download individual or multiple files to your device from the Plesk control panel's file manager. The files can be found in Plesk by selecting the "Files" option from the left side of the page:
In order to download multiple files at once within a folder, the files must first be compressed into a .zip file. This can be done as follows:
Select the files you want to download
You can select all the files visible on the page by checking the top checkbox [ ]
Once the desired files are selected, choose Archive -> Add to archive
Enter a name for the .zip file you are creating and click "OK"
Select the .zip file you created and then click "Download" to download the file to your computer
Downloading the database
If your website is built with, for example, WordPress, you won't be able to get your site working elsewhere without the associated database. You can download the database as follows:
In the Plesk control panel, on the left side of the page, select "Databases" -> Choose "Export Dump"
If you see multiple databases, make sure to identify which one is being used by your website. You can check the name of the active database on the "Websites & Domains" page -> Dashboard -> Connection Info
You can select the destination where the .zip file for the database will be created and give the file a name. You can also choose whether the file/dump should be downloaded to your device immediately after creation. Finally, click OK
If you didn't choose automatic download in the previous step, you can download the .zip file you created again from the file manager
