Domainkeskus is an approved domain registrar by the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (Viestintävirasto), and we have been operating since 2000. Our domain management system allows for the management of even large numbers of domains, and features such as billing and administrative rights can be defined on a department and/or branch level.
To transfer a .fi domain, you will need an authorization key from your current service provider. If your domain does not have a registrar or if your current service provider does not provide the authorization key despite your request, you can request the authorization key from the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority.
For international domains (e.g., com, net, org, info), you can transfer them to Domainkeskus by following these steps:
1.Request the transfer authorization key ('EPP key' or 'Auth code') from your current service provider.
2. Ask your current service provider to unlock the domain for transfer.
3. Order a transfer for your domain via our website: https://www.domainkeskus.com/en/domain/
4. Ensure that your current service provider has your valid email address in the domain's contact details (Whois information) for Registrant and Administrative Contacts, or that the administrative contact will receive and process the transfer confirmation request.
5. We will initiate the domain transfer using the provided authorization key. You will receive an acknowledgment email for the transfer, which you need to confirm in order to successfully complete the transfer.
