An A record is used to direct the traffic of a domain and/or subdomain to an IP address.

AAAA

An AAAA record is used to direct the traffic of a domain and/or subdomain to an IPv6 address.

CNAME

A CNAME record is used to redirect the traffic of a domain or subdomain to another domain or its subdomain.

TXT

TXT records are usually used for domain ownership verification or SPF (Sender Policy Framework) records.

SPF records are used to specify which servers are allowed to send email on behalf of the domain. If a sending server is not authorized in the SPF record, the email may be classified as potential spam.

SRV

An SRV record is used to determine the location based on the host name and port.

The example below shows adding an SRV record. The service and protocol of the SRV record are specified in the Name field. The record type selected is SRV. The RDATA fields are filled with priority, weight, port, and target in the mentioned order.

MX

An MX record is used to specify the mail servers for a domain. The MX setting requires the name of the mail server, such as mail.yourdomain.com.
