Page redirection should be done when you have replaced an old page with a new one and you want visitors to find the newer version instead of the old one.
There are two types of redirection:
301 Permanent
A 301 redirect indicates a permanent change. Search engines detect these redirects and reindex the website accordingly.
302 Temporary
A 302 redirect is temporary, meaning the original page remains indexed by search engines. A 302 redirect is not a permanent solution since both versions of the page remain indexed, which affects the rankings of both the new and old pages in search results.
Adding a redirection:
1. Click on "Website Settings".
2. Click on "Redirect".
3. Click on the "Add Redirect" button or the plus sign.
4. Enter the name of the original page in the left "Source" field.
5. Enter the page where you want to redirect the traffic in the right "Destination" field.
6. Finally, click "Save".
After saving, you will be directed to the "Redirect" page, where you can see all your active redirects.
Resetting the website
A website reset performs the following actions:
Clears all website content
Restores the default page template, removing any changes made to fonts, styles, and colors
After the website reset:
Text content is deleted
Images are removed from the pages but remain accessible in the saved images.
Blog posts are preserved in the blog application
Products are preserved in the e-commerce application
Domain and account settings remain unchanged
To reset a website:
1. Click on "Website Settings".
2. Click on "Reset" and then "Reset Page".
Please note that resetting a website is a significant action and should be done with caution as it removes all content and resets the design to the default state.
